WHAT THE KIDS SAY
I like the pictures and the little windows are fun. I like that we each get our own board and we can spin it and that one side is red and the other is green. And I like that I was able to beat my Mommy.
I like that it's hard to play the game. It's challenging, kids of any age can play, even adults.
I like that it's hard to find the pictures, and that you have to spin to find the pictures instead of just looking at the board. I like that there is a lot of different ways to play the game. The big googly eye is cool on the top of the box.
WHAT ADULTS THINK
We played it twice. My 6 year old daughter liked that there were different versions for this game. She found the game easy, but she's generally very good at this type of game. The pictures were interesting and she liked the windows on each board. I'm not really sure why she didn't want to play this game after the first week. Perhaps it's because it's very similar to some other games we have (eg. Pictureka) and play often so she just got bored of it quickly. My 4 year old probably would have been able to improve at the game, if she didn't find it so boring. My 8 year old just wasn't interested in even trying the game once. He said that it just didn't look interesting to him at all when he saw me playing it with my 6 year old.
We have tested Spot It! games in the past, and this one is very similar, but is a notch above in terms of fun and challenge. The googly eye on the top of the box is funny and got my girls F9 and F7 interested in trying out the game. They have played one game so far. It was quite challenging for F9 and F7, but F7 won with a score of 10-8. There are many different cards, and many different ways to play the game, so the interest will last longer. I like the different difficulty levels, and we will ease into the other games. The pictures are small, and sometimes hard to recognize, so it takes a lot of concentration. It's definitely challenging. The girls found the green side challenging, and it's the easiest of all. I think they will get better at finding the pictures once they get more practice in. But they are eager to try the more challenging "red" board, and the different games such as find a picture that starts with the letter A, find a picture that rhymes with.... The girls love the challenge of the game, and enjoy having to spin the wheel to find the pictures. It's quite competitive, and my son M11 is intrigued and eager to try it out as well. I think this would be a great travel game, or camping game. There are 6 boards included, which is more than I expected, so the game can be played with up to 6 people. I love the 6 different games that can be played, we are anxious to try them all out. Better storage in the box would be great, as I feel we will need to put elastics around the cards to keep them from spreading everywhere in the box. The box is very cute with the big googly eye on the top.
Flip a card and then spin the wheel to find its matching icon in the windows. Make sure to pay attention and search quickly- it's a race! Spot the match before your opponents to win the round and a point. 6 double-sided wheels, 100 icon cards, 3 levels, and 6 rules to play create challenging searching fun for all ages.
