EDITOR'S REVIEW

There's a small learning curve to working this toy, but our testers found it worth their while to get it right. A couple of testers had trouble recording or accidentaly erased their first few videos before even watching them, and there's some trial and error findig the best ligthing conditions. But kids that persevered had a blast recording the car doing the Hot Wheel track circuit, or off track mounted on their bikes, or even attached to the dog's collar. The videos can be watched soundless on the car itself, or uploaded to your computer for the full effect (most testers needed some parental help doing this). Great fun!

I think this is the best toy in the world, no in the UNIVERSE!!! You can just drive it like a regular car or it can even record like driving on the Hot Wheels track or you can be a spy and record your dad! I like everything about this toy! I'm just sad that I didn't get to try it on my bike. I want one for Christmas!!!

I love that it's a car AND a camera. I can tape the view of a Hot Wheels race track. I have placed it on my bike so that I can try to catch my awesome jumps and we even tied it to our dog!

The car is way cool. My friends and I like making videos. I'm happy that I figured out how to use it.

This car is awesome and great. I loved taking pictures of different things. One time I raced my dad on my bike! It was super cool to watch!

WHAT ADULTS THINK

We liked this car, especially the fact that my son was able to use it on his own (at most times) as well, that he was able to explain how it worked, etc...to his friends. He got over his main difficulties in operating the toy as time went on (which was a great motivational boost for him). We did find that he did lose interest in the toy quickly, but when we asked him if he wanted to use it / make a video, he quickly ran to where the car was stored and we'd help set him up and get things going.

This toy really wasn't a big hit in our household and I am not really sure why it wasn't. I think the number of steps it took from taking the video to being able to see and hear it just annoyed my daughter (9) The video that the car captures is pretty good for such a small little device. The car was able to hold about 10-12 minutes of video. The video will play back on the car, but without sound. To hear the sound the video needs to be downloaded to the computer. There is a free software you can download from Hot wheels that will allow you to edit the video you just took.

A fun toy for my 6 year old. My 3 year old was also interested, but didn't always understand how to do the recording. My son stayed interested in this toy and played with it every day. My only suggestion would be for it to be packaged in a reusable box that you could store all the pieces in.

Works great for a little camera and it can be attached to almost anything. The kids love making their own action movies. My only concern it the cost, for a bit more you can have a real camera, then again, this is truly unique and I wouldn't do with a real camera half of what we did with this. Like attaching it to a dog's collar and playing Fetch.

Connor (age 7) had no interest in this hot wheels camera car. It started off rough because he had some difficulty recording. It is very easy to erase which I think was the problem...he kept erasing his video. You need a lot of light to get a good recording. He watched one video on the small screen on the car as well as on the computer. After watching one video he lost interest completely. The girls (ages 5 and 3) thought it was neat to record and watch the video back on the car but they also lost interest very quickly. This is a very expensive toy!
