WHAT THE KIDS SAY

I really, really liked the ideas in this book! They make my neighbors, friends and family laugh. I especially love the idea where you just see that humpty dumpty had fallen of a wall, and when you draw it, make sure to draw it by something where he could have fallen off of something. It also makes it more creative, descriptive and funny when you draw egg-yolk coming from underneath him and cracks on the edges! There are some bad parts but the bad parts aren’t that bad, like, the chalk runs out VERY easily and that it is really, really hard to draw some of the things in the book! Overall, I think this is a very fun craft and an amusing toy!

It has good ideas for the chalk. The ant crossing sign was the best idea.

I just like drawing on the floor with chalk. I really don't use the book but it is nice to look at the pictures.

I really, really liked the ideas in this book of what to draw with chalk! They make my neighbors, friends and family laugh (which, I think, is the purpose of the craft). It also is very good for busy roads where cars drive by and see it (but draw it on your driveway of course and not on the road!) I especially love the idea where you just see that humpty dumpty had fallen of a wall, and when you draw it, make sure to draw it by something where he could have fallen off of something. It also makes it more creative, descriptive and funny when you draw egg-yolk coming from underneath him and cracks on the edges! It never lost its interest either! I think this would be a good gift for people who like being outside, laughing, making other people laugh or a combination! I recommend this to all ages but particularly 8-13 and maybe some of their parents. I rated it an 8 because there are some bad parts but the bad parts aren’t that bad, like, the chalk runs out VERY easily and that it is really, really hard to draw some of the things in the book!  Overall, I think this is a very fun craft and an amusing toy!

I love this book. It gave me so many ideas. I have been doing all kinds of chalk art all summer long. I really like it. Mom had to go and buy me new chalk because I finished all of mine in the package but i saved the book for more ideas.

This book had a lot of great ideas but some I couldn't do on my sidewalk. I also wanted more ideas because I really got into it.

I did not give it a 10 because I wanted to have more ideas of things to do, what was there was really interesting and great ideas.  I wish it was spring so I could use more of the crayons outside, we found a dry spot on our driveway and played there.  the crayons did use up fast, well they use up just as fast as the other type of sidewalk chalk.  I really like the ideas in the book, I never would have thought to use the cracks in the sidewalk in such a creative and funny way

WHAT ADULTS THINK

It's a good book to get at the beginning of good weather in the spring, to get everyone to be creative (and a little silly) outside. There are a number of ideas for using the pavement itself as a jumping off point for simple yet effective drawings. It would be nice to have had a section in there dealing with techniques for chalk drawing---even just using inexpensive sidewalk chalk, it's possible to end up with beautiful pastel drawings with the right technique. Overall, a good book to have around.

The kids love chalking and this expanded on their artwork! I'm not sure whether the people walking by got a kick out of it, but I sure did! The rain (though disappointing) helped wash their palette so they could start on a new project. Great ideas and since you can buy chalk at the local dollar store, the book can be used over and over.

I really need the book to help me with ideas. I think I lost my creativity as i got older. I am not sure how much children really use the book. I know it has helped my daughter really look at the environment when creating her pictures so that was a bonus with the book. The book is also sturdy and has remained looking new despite the fact we really used it. The chalk is no different than one's i have bought before. But overall, i like this toy. I think it would be better used for children 6plus.

Just flipping through the book made me laugh! The ideas for adding excitement to the sidewalk were excellent! My daughter (9) got to work right away on spicing up the sidewalk. We are on a street that gets a lot of pedestrian traffic, so she enjoyed the fact that a lot of people would get a kick out of it. The rain (though disappointing) helped wash their palette so they could start on a new project. Great ideas and since you can buy chalk at the local dollar store, the book can be used over and over.
