Play Tested Review
A simple toy with rubbery, textured protrusions that are easy to grasp and chew on.
WHAT ADULTS THINK
My daughter (7mo) has really enjoyed this toy. It's a toy I take with me when we're going out for a bit and I need something to occupy her. It isn't as easy for her to grab as some of her other toys, but she loves chewing on the different pieces, which must feel different in her mouth. She likes to shake it and hear the tinkle inside, and she has just started putting it inside containers. When she first got it (at 3 mo) she liked to put it in her mouth and chew on the pieces that poke out--they have different textures that feel good on her sore teething gums. The toy is brightly coloured and attractive. The pieces that poke out in all directions, made it easier for my daughter, who was only learning to grasp objects, to hold onto it. She tries to wave it around to hear the rattle. The toy has stood up to much chewing and teething. Nothing came apart, and I can't even see any gum/teeth marks! Overall, the design is pretty good. I wish the parts that poke out were a bit longer; it would be easier for little hands to grab onto. But my daughter (7mo) was able to hold onto it.
My daughter Suri is 5 months old and starting her teething period. She took to this toy immediately, as she was able to grasp and toy in her little hands. The soft spokes on the toy helped her in putting it in her tiny mouth and she started chewing on it to ease her teething irritation. She still chews on it every day and likes to play with it along with her other toys. Ball is brightly colored and also has a bell inside the ball...Every time baby holds or moves the ball the bell rings. My daughter can easily hold the ball and the soft silicon material doesn't seem to hurt her or her gums. My daughter prefers this toy over other teething toy due to its ease of holding and chewing. I really liked the teething ball but the only pet peeve I had was regarding cleaning.. There are holes on the ball so that baby can hear the bell inside the ball. If I wash the ball water can go inside the ball and I am not sure if it can be removed or dried completely which might lead to molding inside the ball after a few months. I am also a bit concerned that babies might accidentally poke their eye with the tiny spokes coming out of the ball.
