A fun and interesting twist to Hide & Seek - more like Capture teh Flag, the way both tesms are looking cimoultaneously for the other's snipe. Great for indoors or outside, especially at dusk when the glowing eyes aremore visible. Or, for older kids, in the dark with flashlights. A couple of things to note... The gree snipe camouflages beter, so teh red snipe is easier to find - soemthing to work with is trying to give a team a handicap (like yonger players, or if they lost last round). Also, the cirp sn't as lous outdoors as it is inside, so you may not hear it until you're already fairly close. Overall, a fun game for those who like seeking style games.
WHAT THE KIDS SAY
"This game is lots of fun because you can play with basically any amount of people in teams. You can camouflage it in bushes to make it harder to find. You need to switch the snipes because the red is easier to find because it doesn't get camouflaged as easily. It's really fun to find the snipes and bring them back to their nest. When you're inside, it's much harder to find the snipes. We played that when you find the snipe, you bring it back to the nest and re-activate it and hide it again. I love the fact that after 2.5 minutes it starts to make sounds to help you find it and after 5 minutes, it starts to blink its eyes.
I liked playing this game because you got to go looking for the snipe and it was funny when your friend couldn't find it and had to listen for the chirping. it made hide and go seek alot more fun.
I love Snipe Hunt! It is my favourite hide and seek game.
I like the red one, Biela, when we are playing inside because red is my favourite colour. Outside, I like the green one because it looks more realistic and is harder to find. (Turns off lights) Look at the eyes flashing! Isn't that cool?!
I am going to put my Snipe, Biela, beside my bed every night. Mom, do you want to play pet shop? They are selling Snipes and you won't be allergic to them
It's harder to find it outside than inside because it's camouflaged except when they eyes flash. If you hide it under leaves then the chirping is muffled. I don't like that you need to be bring it back to the home base.
You have to find them and I love finding things! I like when they start chirping. It takes a long time for them to start chirping.
Sometimes if the animal is hiding in a closet it is hard to find even if it is making noises.
I like this game because it makes noise so it makes it easier to find and it flashes its eyes. It is easier at night in the dark because it flashes its eyes. I like that there are 2 animals so you can play in teams. It's a little harder to play outside because the green one gets camouflaged in the grass.
It's like flag football, but with a creature you have to capture and return it to home base. So the basic idea is you have 2 creatures, called "Snipes" and you have 2 teams. Each team hides their snipe and then you have to race to find them and whoever returns the snipe to the home base first, wins. But, if you don't find it in a certain amount of time, 2 minutes I think, then the creature starts to chirp. If you are even longer, then the creatures eyes start to glow. We found it each time before the eyes started to glow. It makes you move and race quickly to try and find it before the other team does. When the snipe starts chirping, you feel more pressure to find it because you know your opponent is hearing it chirp too. You can play either inside or outside. We just played inside today. It is addicting.
WHAT ADULTS THINK
"I am much more impressed with this game than I thought I would. The interest has remained high. It is not a toy that is played with everyday, but quite often - especially if a friend comes over that hasn't had an opportunity to play with it. This appeals to both my 10 year old boy and 6 year old girl. It's the idea of a timed search and find - a little competitive spirit that is fun and exciting. The kids seem to like it even more when they make teams and work together to "beat" the other team.
After playing this game a few times, the kids [M4, M8, F11, F14] really caught onto how much fun it was. Unfortunately, we misplaced one of the snipes and couldnt play anymore. Later, it was found in a drawer, but had already been returned. The kids had a lot of fun playing with it while they could. I would have liked for the snipes to be a bit larger so they could not be lost as easily. Normally they would chirp until found, but my son had turned it off and hid in his drawer, forgetting where it was.
Great hide and seek game that the kids (M4, M7, M8 & F10) love to play. For outdoor play, it really needs a higher chirping volume, but unfortunately, the volume is not controllable. Cute packaging too!
This is a great concept. It is basically hide and seek with the two little animals. The kids F4, F6 & M7) used their imaginations and played with the game in a variety of ways.....hiding just one, playing in teams, inside and outside. This was played with a few times with friends as well as on their own. They had lots of fun but only played the game for 2 days and have since shown no interest. As a consumer I love that it came with batteries. The quality is great. The age recommend is 6+ but my 4 year old enjoyed the game as well.
Snipe Hunt is a game of hide and seek for the whole family that can be played indoors or outdoors during the day or night and tells a great story about Smartin and Biela, the two Snipes.
The Snipe hunt game can be played with two people, two teams or special * single seeker play, and incorporates both indoor/outdoor activity and good old fashion fun. The object of Snipe is Be the first team/person to find the other team/persons snipe and return it to its nest. After the players have hidden their snipe the other player will try to find it. After a period of time, if the Snipes have not been discovered, they will chirp and then their eyes will light up. Each game comes with two snipes, (named Biela and Smartin) and a Snipe nest. The packaging tells the story behind the legendary campfire animals.
