EDITOR'S REVIEW

A great craft with lots of creaitive ideas to dress up your windows. The unique thing about this kit are the ideas for making 3D sculptures with the dried paint. Our testers loved this craft, but noote that it is fairly messy and the drying time takes quite awhile - longer even than stated.

I really liked this toy because it made really nice sun catchers like the windows in the church. I could do my own name and make whatever I wanted. It was cool how the paint turned into plastic. The only thing I didn't like is that you can't erase your mistakes.

The designs and the glitter in the paint is really nice.  The ones we made are still on the kitchen window and they look really nice.  I keep wanting to make more only the paint tops are blocked on some of the paintsd.

The sparkling 3D paint kit was cool.  I made a bird and a dog.  I keep them on my desk and window in my room.  I look at them every day.  I needed some help but not a lot.  I could not wait for the black paint to dry to finish my animals.

This was a really fun activity.  I did some with my firends and it was fun to see how the colors would bemixed up.  I don'T like that it takes so long to dry.  It's hard to wait.  My mom helped me try to make the Unicorn...it ended up looking like a duck wityh legs, it was very funny looking.  The flowers where really beautiful and I liked thesun catchers.  I have mine in my roo, and its really pretty to look at.  It was not hard to push the stuff out of the tubes, sometimes it was a little thick but that was ok.  We did a lot during Chrismas and I liked seeing them in the windows.

The kids (G5, G7, G9)  were able to create beautiful 3-D window glittery creations and more with this special sparkle paint. They would trace with the black and silver outline paint and then coloured in with glittery colors.  My 7 year old made a trinket box and decorated it with jewels.  The instructions were easy to follow, the kids needed minimal assistance and the end product was beautiful.  We only wish that it did not take so long to dry.

Excellent craft for kids 7 and up.  The instructions were easy to follow for all of the 3D projects (including the window catchers, 3D flowers and pony).  My 8 year old daughter was able to handle the paint for the outlines and the colouring with ease however her 6 year old cousin tried one and had a bit of difficulty.  The end result was really nice - you just peeled your design off the plastic sheet and you could put it on the window for a really nice sun catcher.  The 3D flower and pony also turned out looking very good however they took a little more time.  The only negative to this craft is that the drying time is longer than stated in the instructions.  The outlines take at least 40 minutes to dry and the interior colour at least an hour.  Also, make sure when you snip the ends off the paint, you do it right at the tip otherwise the caps don't fit back on.  The design stencils provided were excellent but one of the things I liked best about this craft was that my daughter was able to make her own designs (including making her name into a sun catcher).  Overall, I would definitely buy this craft - it was a lot of fun and allowed for creativity and excellent results.

What a nice activity!  I had never thought of doing 3D crafts with window art paint.  Things I did find out was that it is not a good idea to use Saran wrap ( This tip came from a Klutz book ) the paint dried way too much and it was brittle, making it difficult to get it to stick on itself to make a horse figurine ( OK it was supposed to be a unicorn and ended up looking like cross between a weenie dog and a rat..not at all the cutsie image I had in mind )  also using saran wrap makes the colors that started out beautiful and bright like a kaleidoscope end up looking basically red.  With the kit they include 2 plastic sheets used to protect pages and the crafts we did on these sheets came out the best.  The paint bottles needed to be cut a few times to have a big enough opening for the paint to come off, that makes it difficult to recap using the little attached cap.  I returned to look at our works of art and all the caps where off, I thought one of the kids had done that until I saw one pop off by itself.  There is a lot of paint in those little containers, more than enough to make numerous pictures.  The pictures included in the kit have broad lines and are easy to trace.  We had some other ones at home from another type of kit and the lines where way too close together and the outline just became a blur.  This kit is spaced enough and the outline is well done.   I tried using Artis-sticks paint tubes and used their painting techniques to make a cool looking sun catcher, I really liked their ideas to draw out the colors.  I am not an artsy type, if I don't read t or see it somewhere I would never deviate from the " in-the-box" thinking that comes with certain crafts and this kit helped me get away from that.  I felt quite creative.  We where having a birthday party and the little girls saw what I had done and one asked me if I was an artist.  ain't that cute? I had to tell her the truth, which is that I am following directions from the kit but it was sweet to hear.

There was enough included paint to make many designs and the kit could easily be shared amongst numerous kids - all you would need is more plastic sheet protectors. My daughter would come home from school asking me if she could make more designs as she had been thinking of original ones to make while at school. The instructions were easy to follow for all of the 3D projects (including the window catchers, 3D flowers and pony). My 8 year old daughter was able to handle the paint for the outlines and the colouring with ease, however her 6 year old cousin tried one and had a bit of difficulty. The end result was really nice - you just peeled your design off the plastic sheet and you could put it on the window for a really nice sun catcher. The 3D flower and pony also turned out looking very good, however they took a little more time. The only negative to this craft is that the drying time is longer than stated in the instructions. The outlines take at least 40 minutes to dry and the interior colour at least an hour. Also, make sure when you snip the ends off the paint, you do it right at the tip otherwise the caps don't fit back on. The design stencils provided were excellent, but one of the things I liked best about this craft was that my daughter was able to make her own designs (including making her name into a sun catcher).
