An intricate, but relaxing, colouring project that takes multiple sessions to complete – perfect to fill a few minutes here and there over the school break. A variety of themes are available in two sizes – a single large (24” x 34”) poster, or a set of four mini posters (11” x 14”). Each kit includes a colourful assortment of 12 felt pens with a calligraphy tip on one end and a fine tip on the other. We recommend one of the four-sheet mini kit to start, as the big poster looks a little daunting for all but the most dedicated colouring fans, unless perhaps you make it a family project. We tested the large posters, which our older testers coloured with great enthusiasm.
WHAT THE KIDS SAY
I liked this poster, there were so many butterflies to colour. I cut out some and made cards out of them.
I really really like this activity. I love to draw and colour. I've done maybe 8 hours up to now and I still have a ways to go. It's almost like colouring a mandella , really relaxing. I would recommend this for someone older because I think a younger child would end up just scribbling on it and that would be sad. I am doing the jungle picture and there is soooo much detail ! it is a beautiful picture and although I can't wait to be done I want to take my time to do it well.
Love the poster, tons of detail. I really liked that the markers had two ends. A big and a small. This poster was too big to leave out so we had to roll it up all the time and we tore the bottom a bit. After a while my sister (F6) and I decided to cut it up and use the individual butterflies for things like cards and wall art.

WHAT ADULTS THINK
This was a good craft for both my kids. The quality of both the paper and markers were very good. The markers didn't bleed through the paper. I really liked the fact that the markers had a thick and a thin side. The poster we tested was very big and didn't fit on the kids art table so they either had to work on it at the dinning room table or on the floor. They had to keep rolling it up to get it out of the way- this caused the end of the poster to ripe a bit. It didn't matter in the end because the kids started to cut out all the butterflies and use them as pieces of art projects.
Wow this poster making takes so long to do and we really don't get very far with it because the picture is so big. It is therapeutic though to work on it. I watch my daughter spend so much time on this project without complaining. She gravitates to this type of activity for hours. I love that she still loves the basic colour on paper activity rather than spend time on the computer.
This is like a huge puzzle to draw, I am thankful Geneviève ( 13 ) has the patience to keep going and return to it after a few days. It certainly can not be done in 1 sitting ( maybe a week of sittings) She writes the amount of time she spends on it and up to now she has close to 8 hours and she is barely at the half way mark! I would recommend it for a child that has a lot of patience, my other kids ( M11, F10, m9 ) would have given up by now. The markers appear to be of good quality and the tip is still fine, I have noticed note bleed though the page, especially with the red colour. The markers have a marker on each end so there are a lot of colour options. Geneviève has never mentioned that she wanted to use other markers. When she is done I will certainly mount up the picture, it will be quite the masterpiece.
